A Learning Management Software (LMS) or Course management System (CMS) is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, and reporting of training programs, classroom and online events, e-learning programs, and training content.
Blackboard Learn 9.1
Blackboard is a Web-based course-management system designed to allow students and faculty to participate in classes delivered online or use online materials and activities to complement face-to-face teaching. Blackboard enables instructors to provide students with course materials, discussion boards, virtual chat, online quizzes, an academic resource center, and more.

Blackboard WebCT Campus Edition
Why the change to Bb Learn?
In recent years Blackboard and WebCT merged and adopted the Blackboard brand as its primary name, thus changing the WebCT Campus Edition to Blackboard WebCT CE. At this point we are running an older version of the WebCT platform (version 4.1) that will lose official support in the near future and it’s already been referred to as a “Legacy” system. As the company has identified Learn as its next generation product it makes more sense to migrate directly to this version than maintain older versions of WebCT.
