Juan J. Lojo MD, FACS
Professor of Surgery
Dr. Juan Lojo obtained his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. He completed a residency in General Surgery at the University of Puerto Rico program, where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Lojo is certified by the American Board of Surgery. After serving in the US Army, Dr. Lojo returned to the faculty of the UPR School of Medicine. He is a Professor of Surgery, and former Chair of the Department of Surgery and Program Director. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract and the Asociación Puertorriqueña de Gastroenterología. He is co-author of several scientific presentations and publications related to Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD). Dr. Lojo has vast experience in the surgical management of IBD, and serves as the Surgical Director of the UPR Center for IBD.
